For nearly 400 years (1558–1945), as the capital of Đàng Trong and later the imperial city of the Nguyễn Dynasty, the ancient capital Huế has been a cradle of Vietnamese culture and history. Through centuries of transformation, Huế remains a living museum — a place where tangible and intangible heritage continues to be preserved, symbolizing the wisdom and spirit of the Vietnamese people. Among these treasures is the traditional paper flower craft from Thanh Tiên village — a form of artistry that has endured through time and turmoil to find new meaning in contemporary life.
The event will also include a special talk featuring:
– Master artisan Trần Phú (traditional paper flowers)
– Culinary culture artisan Hồ Đắc Thiếu Anh
– Educator and jurist Ngô Tiến Nhân
– And Phan Ngọc Hiếu, founder of Maypaperflower, sharing the challenges and responsibilities of young people today in revitalizing traditional culture for modern life.
In addition, visitors can join a paper flower workshop accompanied by artful fruit-and-cake treats, promising an engaging and meaningful hands-on experience.
