MAYPAPERFLOWER - Beyond a brand

Established in May 2019, Maypaperflower is a paper flower shop with its best characteristics of a former imperial city. Welcoming flower lovers is the image captured at the beautiful shop painted with green color. If you visit the shop in the dusk, you will see behind the glass door are framed paintings and flower vases showing their beauty under the soft and warm yellow light. Inside the shop is the place where the flowers are blooming from the hands of skillful and enthusiastic artisans. The shop looks peaceful, but it still evokes the hustle and bustle of the working artisans – just like outside the window, Hue City seems quiet but it is actually growing.

Maypaperflower is inspired and inherited from Thanh Tien, an approximate 400-year-old paper flower-making village in Hue. As a Hue native, Ms. Ngoc Hieu - the founder of Maypaperflower always wishes to bring paper flowers to further lands and be able to continue developing this handicraft.

Appreciating and preserving the old values as well as combining contemporary art and following modern aesthetic trends is the way that Maypapeflower wishes to restore a craft which has been on the verge of disappearing. Maypapeflower has brought paper flowers to the wider world. The paper flowers have made their appearance in Europe, America, Australia, and others. This is considered a journey of bringing traditional values into modern life, and a journey of promoting the beauty of Hue culture to friends from around the world.

Maypaperflower wins customers’ heart for its creativity of design and quality of products. Flowers are made from specialized art paper, which is durable and environment-friendly. Their frame is made from high quality wood that has been treated to prevent moisture and mildew, and is fitted with glass to keep away from dirt. Pouring our heart to what we are doing, Maypaperflower understands that a flower product, preserving a part of the memory of the old space must be in harmony and respect for nature, because sustainable development only comes from sustainable values. This value comes not only from the materials but also from the clever craftmen. With their meticulousness and care in each stage, May’s artisans have contributed to creating colorful and lively flowers.
